Terms of Use
End User License Agreement · Effective 6 October 2026
- Phila Clear is freeware — free to download and use, personally or at work. It is not open source.
- You may not resell it, modify it, reverse-engineer it, or redistribute altered copies.
- It cleans files on your Mac. You choose what to clean and you are responsible for that choice — keep a backup.
- It comes as is, with no warranty, and our liability is limited.
- Coffee donations are voluntary gifts. They don't buy a licence, features or support.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Phila Clear (the “Software”) is made by Phila (phila.in.th), based in Thailand (“Phila”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Phila. They cover the Software, its updates, this website at clear.phila.in.th (the “Site”) and any donation you make through the Site. By downloading, installing or using the Software, or by donating, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Software or the Site.
2. Licence
Phila grants you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the Software on any Mac you own or control, for personal or business use, subject to these terms. The Software is licensed, not sold. Phila keeps all rights not expressly granted to you.
3. What you may not do
Unless the law allows it despite this restriction, you may not:
- sell, rent, lease, sublicense or charge for the Software, or bundle it with a paid product or service;
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the Software;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer it, or try to obtain its source code;
- remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice, or present the Software as your own;
- distribute the Software anywhere other than by linking to this Site. You may share links to clear.phila.in.th freely; please don't re-host the installer.
4. Using the Software responsibly
The Software finds caches, logs, developer files, large files and other items, and can move them to the Trash or, where you choose, delete them or run macOS maintenance tools with administrator privileges. Nothing is selected for you. You decide what to clean and you are solely responsible for that decision. Before cleaning, check what you have selected and keep a current backup (for example with Time Machine). Some actions you can choose, such as emptying the Trash, deleting Time Machine local snapshots or erasing system logs, cannot be undone.
5. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software and the Site are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement or uninterrupted, error-free operation. Phila does not warrant that the Software will free any particular amount of space, that size measurements will be exact, or that it will be compatible with every Mac, app or future version of macOS.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Phila will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, business or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Software, the Site or these terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Phila's total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you donated to Phila in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 10.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.
7. Donations (“Buy me a coffee”)
- Donations are entirely voluntary gifts to support development. A donation does not buy a licence, extra features, priority support or any goods or services, and the Software stays free whether or not you donate.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Phila never sees or stores your full card details. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.
- Amounts are charged in US dollars. Your bank may add currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fees.
- Donations are non-refundable, except where required by law or if you were charged by mistake (for example a duplicate payment). For a mistaken charge, contact us within 30 days.
- Donations are not charitable contributions and are generally not tax-deductible. Phila is not a registered charity.
8. Updates and availability
We may release updates, change or remove features, or stop distributing the Software at any time, without notice. Updates are covered by these terms unless they come with different terms. We have no obligation to provide support, but we welcome feedback.
9. Trademarks and third-party names
“Phila”, “Phila Clear” and their logos belong to Phila. Apple, Mac, macOS, Time Machine, Xcode and other names mentioned in the Software or on the Site belong to their owners. They are used only to describe what the Software works with, and do not imply endorsement. The Software is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
10. Ending this licence
This licence lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you break these terms. You can end it at any time by deleting the Software. Sections 5, 6, 7, 9 and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer-protection law of your country gives you the right to use its law or courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Phila about the Software.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Software after an update, you accept the new terms.
